I live in New Jersey with my husband and kids.  For the last couple of years, we have been working  towards a more sustainable, self-sufficient life by starting a garden, increasing our “from scratch” recipe rotation, and raising chickens.  We have learned a lot in the last few years, some of it the hard way, but we are excited to improve our skills.

 

My love of systems and problem solving has been an asset as I managed a household and career as a teacher.   As I continue to learn and build my own skills as a novice homesteader, I recognize the beauty of collaborating with and learning from our friends, family, and community.  The goal of self-sufficiency has begun to evolve into community sufficiency.
